Violin Lessons: Class 6 – Finger Placement 2

When placing your fingers on the fingerboard, there should always be some space between each of your fingers, regardless of the position of your fingers. This allows some flexibility in more complex movements.

For beginners, all your fingers on your left hand should be in locked in a curved shape. If you have to lift your finger, lift it by using the joint at your knuckles, instead of your first and second finger crease. The first and second finger crease should always be locked. It is very much like typing on a typewriter or keyboard.
